Bone Broth Soup

Nourishing soup useful for anyone is a state of recovery or chronic fatigue. A complete treatment plan for adrenal fatigue, exhaustion, chronic immune disturbances or sports recovery always includes a nourishing soup such as Bone Broth Soup or congee with bone soup. The health effects come from extracting the vitamins and minerals from the bones.

There are many ways to prepare bone soup depending on how much time you have to let it simmer and what kind of cooking appliances you are using (slow cooker, stove top).

Bone broth soup can be enjoying on its own or as the base to another favourite soup recipe or congee. I like to store vegetable scraps in the freezer for my next batch of bone soup.

Ingredients

  • Bring bones, vegetables, vinegar, herbs to a boil

  • Reduce heat and simmer for 6-18 hours

  • You may need to skim off a foam or scum (it’s protein from the meat)

  • Add water as necessary

For left-overs, the soup may congeal due to the high nutrient content. Just reheat and the soup will regain its original tasty liquid form.
